I would like to explain the purpose of the white wolf. Since hearing this, it has helped me come along way with my training and with my daily life.

I recently heard a story based on a Native American parable. While there may be different versions, I believe this message holds true for us at CrossFit Homer Glen. It is a story about a grandfather and his grandson.

“A fight is going on inside me,” the grandfather said “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The grandfather replied, “the one you feed.”

Each day, at home, at work, with friends and family we feed one of the wolves. The gym is an environment that challenges us both mentally and physically and demands a clear head and positive attitude. It is often easier to open the door for self doubt and fear, rather than perseverance and belief in our abilities, but the heaviest weights and most grueling WODs are conquered by it. As we work to push harder and move faster, we can come together and make the conscious decision to feed the White Wolf.

With that being said we have had a lot of interest in this being on the back of our shirts. So the order/pay date is the same, Dec. 14th but the back of the shirt will have this white wolf instead of the big guy.
